The Ccma Scientiic Network: Three Years Activity Report

چکیده

Converging Computing Methodologies in Astronomy (CCMA) is a Scientiic Network supported and nanced by the European Science Foundation (ESF), and managed by a Coordination Committee of nine scientists coming from the astronomy and the computer science research areas. During its rst three years of activity, CCMA promoted cooperation among researchers via work visits in Europe and with the organization of three speciic Workshops and one Conference (this one, that aims of bringing the results obtained to a more wide audience). The paper reviews the main topics taken into account during the three CCMA workshops, and aims to open the discussion on the future of the CCMA itself, as well as on the possibility of new collaborations among researchers in the eld of the computing methodologies in the today's astronomy. The European Science Foundation ESF is the European association of national funding organisations of basic research. Established in 1974, the Foundation currently has 62 Member Organisations from 21 countries, and it maintains close associations with other scientiic institutions within and outside Europe. In pursuit of its mission to promote basic science in Europe and in all the scientiic disciplines, the Foundation employs four principal modes of operation:
